A "shooting star" has nothing to do with a star. These wonderful stripes of light that you can infrequently witness in the night sky are caused by small bits of filth and rock called meteoroids falling into the Earth's atmosphere and blazing up. The short-lived trace of light which is produced by burning meteoroid is called a meteor. Meteors are generally called falling stars or shooting stars. If any fraction of the meteoroid survives and actually strikes the Earth, that left behind bit is then called a meteorite.

At definite times of year, you are probable to see a large number of meteors in the night sky. These actions are called meteor showers and they happen when the Earth passes through the trail of debris left by a comet as it orbits the Sun. These showers are given names based on the constellation present in the sky from which they appear to originate. For example, the Leonid Meteor Shower, or Leonids, appear to originate in the constellation Leo. It is important to understand that the meteoroids (and therefore the meteors) do not really originate from the constellations or any of the stars in the constellations, however. They just appear to come from that part of the sky because of the way the Earth encounters the particles moving in the path of the comet's orbit. Associating the shower name with the region of the sky they appear to come from just helps astronomers know where to look!

Sea water is water as of a sea or ocean. On normal, sea water in the world's oceans has a salinity of ~3.5%. This means that for every 1 liter of sea water there are 35 grams of salts dissolved in it. This can be expressed as 0.6M NaCl. Water with this level of osmolality is, of course, not potable.

Sea water is not consistently saline throughout the world. The planet's freshest sea water is in the Gulf of Finland, part of the Baltic Sea. The most saline open sea is the Red Sea, where high temperatures and controlled circulation result in high rates of surface evaporation and there is little fresh inflow from rivers. The salinity in isolated seas can be considerably greater.

The thickness of sea water is between 1020 and 1030 kg/m3. Due to chemical buffering, seawater pH is limited to the range 7.5 to 8.4.

Ocean salinity

Scientific theories behind the beginning of sea salt started with Sir Edmond Halley in 1715, who proposed that salt and other minerals were carried into the sea by rivers, having been leached out of the ground by rainfall runoff. Upon reaching the ocean, these salts would be retained and determined as the process of vanishing removed the water. Halley noted that of the small number of lakes in the world without ocean outlets, most have high salt content. Halley termed this process "continental weathering".

Halley's theory is partially correct. In addition, sodium was leached out of the ocean floor when the oceans first formed. The presence of the other leading element of salt, chloride, results from "out gassing" of chloride with other gases from Earth's interior via volcano’s and hydrothermal vents. The sodium and chloride consequently became the most abundant constituents of sea salt.
Ocean salinity has been stable for millions of years, most likely as an importance of a chemical/tectonic system which recycles the salt. Since the ocean's creation, sodium is no longer leached out of the ocean floor, but instead is captured in sedimentary layers covering the bed of the ocean. One theory is that plate tectonics result in salt being forced under the continental land masses, where it is again gradually leached to the surface.

100 The British decimal Penny coin, formed by the Royal Mint, was issue on 15 February 1971, the day the British currency was decimalized. Between 1971 and 1984 the head of Queen Elizabeth II by Arnold Machin was used, in which the Queen wears the 'Girls of Great Britain and Ireland' Tiara. Between 1985 and 1997 the head by Raphael Maklouf was used, in which the Queen wears the George IV State Diadem. Digital television

Digital television (DTV) uses digital modulation and compression to broadcast video, audio and data signals to television sets.
Introduction
A major use of DTV can be to carry more channels in the same amount of bandwidth. Another can be high-definition programming. The digital signal eliminates ordinary analog broadcasting artifacts such as "ghosting", "snow", and static noises in audio. It can restore them with new MPEG compression artifacts, such as "blocking", when transmitted at too low a data rate, and may fail to work wholly in situations where analog television would have formed an impaired but watchable picture. Depending on the sophistication and level of the error correction defined by the standard and chosen by the broadcaster, DTV may either work perfectly or not work at all.
The switch-over to DTV systems often coincides with a change in picture format from an aspect ratio of 4:3 to one of 16:9. This enables TV to get closer to the aspect ratio of movies and human vision. On traditional screens this leads to "letterbox" black bars above and below the picture due to placing the 16:9 picture in a 4:3 frame. The preceding aspect ratio of 4:3 was chosen to match the Academy standard ratio of the day.

Bell Telephone Company

Lake effect snow, which can be a kind of snowsquall, is produced in the winter when cold, arctic dry winds move across long expanses of warmer lake water, picking up water vapor which freezes and is deposited on the lee shores. This effect is improved when the moving air mass is uplifted by the orographic effect of higher elevations on the downwind shores. This uplifting can produce narrow, but very intense bands of precipitation, which deposit at a rate of many inches of snow each hour and often bringing copious snowfall totals. The areas affected by lake effect snow are called snowbelts. This effect occurs in many locations throughout the world, mostly in the Northern Hemisphere, but is best known in the populated areas of the Great Lakes of North America. The lake effect from the Great Salt Lake in Utah helps to create "The Greatest Snow on Earth". Since the Great Salt Lake never freezes, the lake effect can affect the weather along the Wasatch front year around.

If the air temperature is not low enough to keep the precipitation frozen, it falls as lake effect rain. In order for lake effect rain or snow to form, the moving air must be cooler and also less humid than the surface air. specially, the air temperature should be 15 to 25°C cooler than the water, and the dew point at the altitude where the air pressure is 850 mb should be 13°C lower than the dew point of the air at the surface. Lake effect of very cold air over still warm water in early winter can produce thundersnow, snow showers accompanied by lightning and thunder.

Chamundi Hills

The Chamundi Hills are situated in India, close to the palace city of Mysore. Its average elevation is 1,000 meters.
Legend has it that that the demon Mahishasura, the king of the area that is currently Mysore, was killed by the Goddess Chamundeswari (also Chamundi) after a fierce battle. The hills therefore got their name and a temple of the Goddess was built on the top. The temple has a very beautiful Idol of the Goddess tiring a garland of skulls. The temple has always been patronised by the rulers of Mysore. In earlier days, the Maharajas of Mysore would ride the ceremonial Dasara elephant during the annual Dasara festival, but after India gained independence, the Idol of Goddess Chamundi is taken on an elephant.
A panoramic view of the city is seen from the top of the hills. Among other landmarks, you can see the Race Course, the Lalitha Mahal palace, the Mysore Palace, the Karanji and Kukkarahalli lakes. At dusk, the view of the city is particularly beautiful, and on Sunday evenings and during the Dasara festival, the illuminated Mysore Palace glitters like gold.
There are steps important to the top of the hill. There are around 1,000 steps in all, and climbing the first 400 or so steps takes some effort. Enroute to the top, the steps pass the large monolithic statue of Nandi the Bull. Nandi is the vahana (Vehicle) of Lord Shiva. Climbing gets easier soon afterwards.
There are regular buses plying to the Chamundi hills from the central bus stand.
The top of the hill has a few attractions - the Mahishasura Statue, the Chamundeswari Temple, and a few other temples nearby. The Rajendra Vilas palace used to be a popular hotel earlier, but is now closed to the public. The palace is now being redone and provides a panaromic view of the Hill, Chamundi Temple and Mysore City.
Mysore got its name from the demon Mahishasura. It was earlier known as 'Mahisuru,' meaning Mahisha's city. slowly it came to be called Mysooru and later anglicised to Mysore. There is a demand and proposal of late that the name of city be changed from Mysore to Mysooru the original Indian form.

When religious leaders were decided finally lifted these prohibitions, it was too late, vivisection was already entrenched in medical and educational institutions. He will have a conversation with the other soldiers in his regiment. They might have think that some of the soldiers will run during a battle. Henry got a strange feeling that he may be the one to run when the time comes. He will decide to bring up the topic during a conversation with another soldier by saying “Think any of the boys will run?” But an another soldier responds “Oh there may be a few of them, but there’s them kind in every regiment, specially when they first goes under fire”. Then Henry is afraid now after hearing what the soldier had to say. So Henry is much confused about war. The regiment accepts Henry and they nuture him so he will be able to fight again. The situation has become critically as something has to happen that will change Henry’s future. He has skilled a lot up to this point. But in the battle field when they turn back and start firing and Henry lost his cool. He cannot go back to his regiment because they will not accept him back into the group.
When Henry first had gone to battle he is relieved when the rebels retreat. Henry showed many signs of pride and courage. People make the war seemed like its a good thing but really its not.

How Your Golf Driver Swing Can Have More Power

A golf driver swing that is lacking in power has a couple of issues that need to be addressed. A golf driver swing is slightly different than your other clubs...but needs to have the same sequence of motion and body position at impact to produce more power and distance of the tee.
Most golfers swing outside their physical capabilities resulting in lost yardage and accuracy.
Has this ever happened to you?
You step up on a long par 4 or a par 5 and tell yourself you’re going to get their in two. What did you do differently on the tee to achieve it? Did you swing harder? If so, what was your result?
The first issue to cover with your golf driver swing is your range of motion, especially on your backswing. Can you make a 90 degree shoulder turn with minimal tension? Most older golfers don’t even come close.
The optimal position is a 90 degree shoulder turn, with approximately 45 degrees of hip turn. This requires a high level of core strength and flexibility. Shoulder flexibility comes into play just a bit also.
If you can’t get to this position, it doesn’t matter how hard you swing…you’re still not going to maximize your power and distance with your driver. Trying to get to that position when you body cannot physically get there will only cause muscle tension, which slows clubhead speed.
Secondly, getting behind the ball and staying behind the ball at impact is critically to maximizing power and distance. This cannot be achieved with an “out-of-shape” body. It’s a physically impossibility.
Even for a fit golfer, this is sometimes hard to accomplish on a consistent basis.
On the downswing, it is critical the first move is with the lower body rotating (not sliding). This rotation of the lower body, while the upper body stays back (for only a split second) takes a ton of core strength.
A weaker golfer would not be able to achieve this. He/she would come over the top early with the upper body, merely because they don’t have core strength to initiate the downswing with the lower body.
So how do you achieve a golf driver swing with maximum power?
Start working on your core strength and flexibility from a rotational standpoint, with a golf weight training and golf stretching routine. Every exercise and stretch you do should incorporate rotational movements. The primary movement in the golf swing is rotational, so why wouldn't you focus on that in your golf training program?
This is the quickest way to longer drives!
Hitting more balls with the same body and the same swing won’t get you there!
You’ve got to address the physical component to achieve the mechanical efficiency with your driver.
As soon as you do, you’ll be blowing by the other players in your foursome!

Current favorite: The Houston Texans
They'll be a few changes here, especially in the coaching department, as Dom Capers and his staff will either be shown the door at the end of the season, or sooner. David Carr was supposed to develop into the franchise QB by now, but we really don't know how good he is because of the lack of talent around him. The Texans management still believe he has potential, so they won't be drafting his replacement in 2006.
Bush would give the team at least a watch-able player, something they don't have at the moment. Not sure about you, but Domanick Davis doesn't exactly get the juices flowing.
The San Francisco 49ers

And with Eli Manning starring for the cross-town Giants, the Jets would also love to have a marquee signal-caller. But could they really pass on Bush??
Green Bay Packers
